Have you ever gone into something with the highest expectations, only to be completely let down? You had massive expectations for a movie, concert, vacation, or a promising new friendship…and then ran into a harsh and disappointing reality.

Chapter 5 of Daniel tells a story that we can all connect to. We all build false “gods” that we place our hope in — a career, a marriage, a sport, or something else. Good as these things are, they can never deliver on the expectations we place upon them. Reality will always kick in.
